Subject: Quran vs Code 19
From: "MrAbc X" <[email protected]>
- The very first verses of the Quran tells us that it is a book for those who believe in the UNSEEN (3/2). If you need a "miracle" before you will believe then the Quran is not for you. For over 1400 years this has been the standard set by God, no one knew about any "code 19". Would God now suddendly change His philosophy ?
I guess Jesus was way off then when he said:
"Father, I know that you've always heard my private prayers and I thank you for it. But hear me now on behalf of the people standing here, so that they may know that you sent me, and believe." Then he called in a loud voice: "Lazarus! Come forth!"
God's system has always been the same. He sends His prophets and His messengers with signs from Him that we may know that they are indeed sent by Him.
The Quran clearly states the purpose of the code 19:
[74:30] Over it is nineteen.*
[74:31] We appointed angels to be guardians of Hell, and we assigned their number (19) (1) to disturb the disbelievers, (2) to convince the Christians and Jews (that this is a divine scripture), (3) to strengthen the faith of the faithful, (4) to remove all traces of doubt from the hearts of Christians, Jews, as well as the believers, and (5) to expose those who harbor doubt in their hearts, and the disbelievers; they will say, "What did GOD mean by this allegory?" GOD thus sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills. None knows the soldiers of your Lord except He. This is a reminder for the people.
- Believers in code 19 try to promote the Quran via code 19. They write articles/books to preach number 19, but they seem to forget that the Quran is in no such need. The Quranic message is not in need of such "codes". It never was and it never will be.
The Quran is mathematically composed with the number 19, whether we or you like it or not. As it turns out we human beings are not the ones to dictate what God should or should not do, or what humans need or do not need. God is the One in charge of that. But, as we know, and as God tells us, the human being is the most argumentative creature.
The revelation of the miracle of the Quran was separated from the revelation of the Quran with 1406 years, which is 19x74. It coincided with the year 1974. The number 19 is mentioned in Sura 74. If you think for one second that this is by human design, then we don't know what else to tell you.
To familiarize yourself with the details of the mathematical code and system of the Quran, based on the number 19, please visit: http://www.submission.info/quran/miracle/index.html
- One must not follow nor accept anything before verifying it (17/36). Unless one is willing to go ahead and count all the letters/words then there is no reason to follow or blindly accept the results which are promoted by believers in code 19.
For some people it was enough to see Jesus revive Lazarus from the dead to know for certain that he was indeed sent by God. Equally, for some people, It is enough to see just one or two signs based on the number 19 to feel certain that this could not be man-made. For others, it doesn't matter how many signs they see, they can never believe.
- If you do start to count and don't get 19-divisibility the first times what will you do ? Start counting again and keep spending years counting letters/words ? Why not spend the time on the Quranic message itself ? Infact so far no one has been able to verify the counts of the Alif suras.
The Alif suras are the most difficult to verify due to the different ways that the letter Alif has been conveyed. It is more wise to start verifying all the hundreds, thousands even, of facts which are easy to verify?
The Quranic miracle, just as the text, ranges from the very easy to the extremely complex, to suit all levels of readers.
- Counting initials/words/etc all takes away the focus from the essence of the Quran: the Quranic message, which gets neglected. Satan has been successfull in making sunni/shias deviate from the Quran in favour of the hadiths. Other Satanic tricks makes people deviate from the Quran by making them more interested in counting, "mathemtical properties", "new discoveries", "new combinations" etc etc! The never-ending disucssion between pro-19/anti-19 is just another example.
This would definately be wrong, if that is the effect it had. There will always be people who abuse God's scripture and the information therein, and miss the point and message. All God's miracles are sent to increase our faith in His words, that we may adjust our lives accordingly.
- Writing is a method to store/transmit the spoken word. There are many small writing differences in various Quranic texts, differences "code 19" can not correct. These dissimilarites are just as irrelevant as the distinction between "color" and "colour". 1400 years ago the written Arabic language was far from standardized as written languages are today, and it was just natural that there would be small differences between different texts written by different scribes/Mohammed:
"(Written) by the hands of SCRIBES" (15/80).
There is hence no need to "correct" or remove the variations of the Quran as promoters of "code 19" claim. These differences are totally irrelevant and don't change the meaning in any case.
There are, as you correctly point out, some differences in spellings in different versions of the Arabic Quran. There is however no need to remove them as the message in them remains the same regardless, just as the message remains the same even as the text is translated and made accessible to other languages, as it should be.
[14:4] We did not send any messenger except (to preach) in the tongue of his people, in order to clarify things for them. GOD then sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills. He is the Almighty, the Most Wise.
[26:198] If we revealed this to people who do not know Arabic.
[26:199] And had him recite it (in Arabic), they could not possibly believe in it.
Wherever there are significant discrepancies in the Quranic text, the code corrects it. The code is not limited to the text, but also covers the structure, as in the numbers of suras, verses, words, letters, the placing of suras and verses, etc.
- The Quran confirms that the writing in itself is irrelevant, and it is the spoken revelation/the message of the Quran which is the main issue and is enough as a miracle alone:
Actually the creation itself is enough of a proof for the intelligent ones. This is repeated throughout the Quran.
[2:164] In the creation of the heavens and the earth, the alternation of night and day, the ships that roam the ocean for the benefit of the people, the water that GOD sends down from the sky to revive dead land and to spread in it all kinds of creatures, the manipulation of the winds, and the clouds that are placed between the sky and the earth, there are sufficient proofs for people who understand.
Yet God tells us that He sends to us messengers and prophets with proofs. Why is that do you think? In vain?
"Is it not enough for them that We have revealed to you the Book WHICH IS RECITED TO THEM?" (29/51) For believers in code 19 this is not enough. They want to go ahead and count letters, and figure our whether the Quran should use "color" or "colour", "sceptic" or "skeptic"!
The purpose of the miracle of the Quran is to help remove doubts in people's hearts about the authenticity of the Quranic message. It is always the message that is important.
There is not doubt that the Quran is numerically structured, whether we like it or not, accept it or not. For those who believe, it will help strengthen an already existing faith.
God speaks of a witness among the children of Israel who bore witness to the same phenomena. We now know that this was Rabbi Judah the Pious who identified that original fragments of the Torah contained the structure of 19, and thus wrote several volumes on the subject.
In the suras with Quranic Initials, God tells us that "these letters are proofs of this book of wisdom", and "these letters are proofs of this scripture". Only with the revelation of the Hidden Secret (Sura 74), do we know what God meant by this.
Numerically structured scriptures is not something foreign according to the Quran:
[83:8] Do you know what Sijjeen is?
[83:9] A numerically structured book.
[83:19] Do you know what `Elleyyeen is?
[83:20] A numerically structured book.
"And RECITE what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord" (18/27) "And when the Quran is RECITED TO THEM they do not make obeisance?" (84/21)"We will make you RECITE so you shall not forget" (87/6)
Absolutely. Could you point out even one commandment in the Quran you feel that those who support the miracle of the Quran do not uphold as should be? After all, it is the application of God's message in our lives that is important.
The Quran no where advocates that it must be written in a special way or that it was a written revelation, believers in code 19 seem to forget the basic fundamental thing: the Quran was an oral revelation! God promised to preserve the Quran; the oral Quran and the Quranic message has not changed. God has kept His promise. Believers in code 19 don't believe this, they need a "corrected" Quran.
The Quran was written down from the time of its revelation. As the entire revelation took 23 years and was revealed not in the order in which it was intended for the world, it was accompanied with instructions, also written down by prophet Muhammad, on how to compile everything correctly.
The preservation of the Quran has been facilitated by the memorization of its text and transmittance orally no doubt. It's design with perfect 'memory bells' placed perfectly throughout the text to facilitate memorization, is another miraculous feature of this glorious scripture.
The Quran has however been written down from the beginning, even if the number of copies only expanded after it was compiled by the committee of scribes appointed to do so 19 years after the prophets death.
It was clearly God's will to put the Quran on paper, which He did.
[96:3] Read, and your Lord, Most Exalted.
[96:4] Teaches by means of the pen.
[68:1] NuN,* the pen, and what they (the people) write.
[25:5] They also said, "Tales from the past that he wrote down; they were dictated to him day and night."*
Again, it would be more useful if you could point out even one correction you've seen suggested in light of the mathematical miracle which in any way affects the Quranic message. Can you produce even one such example?
- Believers in code 19 reject two verses from the Quran. Why would anyone be interested in adding any extra verses at all ? On one side believers in code 19 promote that Mohammed was not illiterate and the Quran was written down in his own time. Despite this they don't accept the only Quran which has been available for over 1400 years.
So your conclusion is that since the mathematical code clearly rejects the only two verses which have always been considered 'suspect', even before the revelation of the mathematical miracle, those who accept the other 6346 verses do not accept the Quran as it was revealed!?
To read about the history of these two particular verses: http://www.submission.info/quran/appendices/appendix24.html
There is absolutely nothing in those two verses which changes the message of the Quran or affects the way we practice our religion (9:128-129).
Also, please consider this. Why do you think God made it so that he removed the Basmalah (In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful) from only one sura in the entire Quran, namely the sura containing those two verses. Do you think that is a coincidence? Do you think it is a coincidence that the real last verse in Sura 9 reads:
[9:127] Whenever a sura was revealed, some of them would look at each other as if to say: "Does anyone see you?" Then they left. Thus, GOD has diverted their hearts, for they are people who do not comprehend.
If someone was interested in adding extra verses to the Quran then surely the "stoning verse" (even today) would be on the top of that list. If 9:128-129 "idolizes" Mohammed then surely 21:107, 33:21 are also "idolize" Mohammed ...
[21:106] This is a proclamation for people who are worshipers.
[21:107] We have sent you out of mercy from us towards the whole world.[33:21] The messenger of GOD has set up a good example for those among you who seek GOD and the Last Day, and constantly think about GOD.
Every time God sends a prophet and a messenger, the message they bring is for all people. This is why God says about Jesus for example:
[21:91] As for the one who maintained her virginity, we blew into her from our spirit, and thus, we made her and her son a portent for the whole world.
[60:4] A good example has been set for you by Abraham and those with him....
Stoning is a punishment decreed in the Bible, not in the Quran.
By pointing towards the writing differences and "correcting" the Quran believers in code 19 start to doubt the Quran. The Quran is a Book where doubt has no place (2/2), it is for those who believe in the unseen (3/2), for those who believe in the oral revelation given to Mohammed (4/2) and for those who are certain about the Hereafter. The very first verses of the Quran blows away "code 19".
How?
- Believers in code 19 claim that "code 19" is a proof of God and that mathematics is the only way which will convince a sceptic.
We've never heard anyone who supports the code of 19 claim that this is the ONLY way, as you suggest you've heard, to convince a sceptic? Seems you are either making things up or generalizing unjustly.
The Quran contains numerious miraculous features. None as powerful as the number 19, but still. There are for example many scientific miracles, with many examples of information contained in the Quran which was only available to us scientifically in this last century, about our creation and about the universe.
We do however live in a new era now with the advent of this authenticating, purifying and consolidating proof of 19. That is why God refers to it as ten times the size of previous miracles.
[34:45] Those before them disbelieved, and even though they did not see one-tenth* of (the miracle) we have given to this generation, when they disbelieved My messengers, how severe was My retribution!
Obviously they were not certain about God and the Hereafter (2/4) before they "saw code 19" and they are not among those who believe in the unseen (3/2). Believers in code 19 seem to forget that if we had a "proof" of God then everyone would have been a believer - it would be pointless for us to be on this earth. They also seem to forget that the Quran is not at all interested in making "muslims" out of people by simply showing them miracles.
We have to be thankful to God Almighty that He sends miracles to strengthen our hearts and help remove our doubts. We all have them. By God's grace, He shared one example of what God calls an exemplary submitter (16:120), and how he prayed to God for a sign to strengthen His heart.
[2:260] Abraham said, "My Lord, show me how You revive the dead." He said, "Do you not believe?" He said, "Yes, but I wish to reassure my heart." He said, "Take four birds, study their marks, place a piece of each bird on top of a hill, then call them to you. They will come to you in a hurry. You should know that GOD is Almighty, Most Wise."
This is mercy from God teaching us that every believer needs assurances. This does not mean we do not believe.
Again, it is God's system that He sends His prophets and messengesr with proofs. Why is that do you think? Is it in vain?
[13:38] We have sent messengers before you (O Rashad), and we made them husbands with wives and children. No messenger can produce a miracle without GOD's authorization, and in accordance with a specific,
predetermined time.[14:11] Their messengers said to them, "We are no more than humans like you, but GOD blesses whomever He chooses from among His servants. We could not possibly show you any kind of authorization, except in accordance with GOD's will. In GOD the believers shall trust.
[40:78] We have sent messengers before you - some of them we mentioned to you, and some we did not mention to you. No messenger can produce any miracle without GOD's authorization. Once GOD's judgment is issued, the truth dominates, and the falsifiers are exposed and humiliated.
[12:108] Say, "This is my path: I invite to GOD, on the basis of a clear proof, and so do those who follow me. GOD be glorified. I am not an idol worshiper."
[11:64] "O my people, this is GOD's camel to serve as a proof for you. You shall let her eat from GOD's earth, and do not touch her with any harm, lest you incur an immediate retribution."
As we learn from the Quran in verse 3:81 and 33:7 among many other verses, after the revelation of all the scriptures, including the Quran, God will send a consolidating messenger with the guidance and the religion of truth (9:33, 48:28). It is only befitting that such a messenger, God's Messenger of the Covenant, be supported with such a powerful miracle.
"And even if We had sent down to them the angels and the dead had spoken to them and We had brought together all things before them, they would not believe unless Allah pleases, but most of them are ignorant. " (6/111) The Quran wants people to believe in it out of reason, out from reflections on the message itself etc etc; not because of "miracles". "Code 19" contradicts the Quranic philosophy in every way.
I'm afraid your interpretation stands in contradiction with God's system, as shown above. And God's system never changes:
[17:77] This has been consistently the case with all the messengers that we sent before you, and you will find that our system never changes.
[33:62] This is GOD's eternal system, and you will find that GOD's system is unchangeable.
