Challenge: The Sunnah and its Position in the Islamic Shareeah

by Dr. Mustafaa As-Sibaa'ee

[The following is a post taken from the MSA-Net. The translator has successfully used this as debate material against followers of Rashad Khalifa (May Allaah give him what he deserves)]

All praise belongs to Allah. We seek His help and we ask His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of ourselves. Whosoever Allah guides, no one can lead him astray; and whosoever He leads astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) is his servant and Messenger. He sent him with truth--sent him as a bearer of good news on the face of the coming Hour of Judgment. Whoever obeys Almighty Allah and His Messenger is on the right path; and whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he harms only himself, and Allah will not be hurt in the least.

There On:

Sunnah in the Arabic language (without any religious context) means a way or method which can have two states, either a good Sunnah or a bad Sunnah.

As Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) said in a hadith:

"Whosoever does a good Sunnah he will get the reward for it and the reward from other people doing the same thing until the day of judgment. And whosoever does a bad Sunnah he will have the punishment from doing it and the punishment of others who practice it" [Muslim]

The definition of Sunnah differs, however, depending on the area of Sharee`ah. For example, a scholar in the area of Usool (fundamental principles) will define Sunnah as whatever was reported that Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) said, did, or permitted to do. As an example of what he said, are the hadeeths which deal with the different Ahkam (regulations) in different contexts, such as his (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) saying:

"The reward of deeds depends on intentions..." [Bukhari & Muslim]

An example of what he did is that which his Companions have reported of him ((may Peace Be Upon Him))) doing in the matters of `Ibaadaat (acts of worship), such as: The way to perform Salaat (prayer), Hajj (pilgrimage), Adab us-Siyaam (etiquette of fasting). An example of what he ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) permitted to do is whenever he kept silent upon seeing the Companions doing things; his ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) silence served as approval; or his acknowledgment to the Companions that they did the right thing. An example of his permission is when the Companions made Ijtihaad (decision by reasoning) during the battle of Bani Quraydha. He ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) said: "Do not pray `Asr till you are at Bani Quraydha" [Bukhari & Muslim]

Some of the Companions understood that to mean that they should delay prayer till they reach the place. However, some Companions understood that to mean that they have to hurry, and so they did pray `Asr on time. In neither case did the Prophet ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) say anyone of them was wrong and he did not reject what they did. Another example where Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) said something when he saw an action by a Companion is when Khalod ibn al-Waleed ate a lizard that Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) refused to eat. Some of the

Companions wondered, and asked him "Is it haraam (unlawful) to eat it, o Messenger of Allah?" The Prophet replied:

"No, but it is not common in my area, and I don't feel to eat it" [Bukhari & Muslim]

So, you need Hadith to conclude exactly what?

That a deed can be good or bad, based on our intentions?

[2:225] GOD does not hold you responsible for the mere utterance of oaths; He
holds you responsible for your innermost intentions....

[5:89] GOD does not hold you responsible for the mere utterance of oaths; He holds you responsible for your actual intentions....

[33:5] ...You do not commit a sin if you make a mistake in this respect; you are responsible for your purposeful intentions...

That if we set a bad example we carry the sins thereof, even after our death?

[29:13] In fact, they will carry their own sins, in addition to loads of other people's sins for which they were responsible. Most certainly, theywill be asked on the Day of Resurrection about their false claims.

That whatever good we do we are rewarded for?

[4:85] Whoever mediates a good deed receives a share of the credit thereof,
and whoever mediates an evil work, incurs a share thereof. GOD controls all things.

[2:286] GOD never burdens a soul beyond its means: to its credit is what it earns, and against it is what it commits. "Our Lord, do not condemn us if we forget or make mistakes. Our Lord, and protect us from blaspheming against You, like those before us have done. Our Lord, protect us from sinning until it becomes too late for us to repent. Pardon us and forgive us. You are our Lord and Master. Grant us victory over the disbelieving people."

That it's ok to eat lizards, but we may not like it

[6:145] Say, "I do not find in the revelations given to me any food that is prohibited for any eater except: (1) carrion, (2) running blood, (3) the meat* of pigs, for it is contaminated, and (4) the meat of animals blasphemously dedicated to other than GOD." If one is forced (to eat these), without being deliberate or malicious, then your Lord is Forgiver, Most Merciful.

Obviously anything that is not prohibitied is allowed. As simple as that. Whether it is to our liking or not has absolutely nothing to do with our religion.

That we can pray whenever we want?! (which is not true)

[4:103] Once you complete your Contact Prayer (Salat), you shall remember GOD while standing, sitting, or lying down.* Once the war is over, you shall observe the Contact Prayers (Salat); the Contact Prayers (Salat) are decreed for the believers at specific times

In Arabic this reads 'Kitaban' times, i.e. times as specified in the scripture. The time for all 5 Salats are given in the scripture. We also read in the Quran that Salat can be shortened or performed while walking or riding during special circumstances.

[4:101] When you travel, during war, you commit no error by shortening your Contact Prayers (Salat), if you fear that the disbelievers may attack you. Surely, the disbelievers are your ardent enemies.

[4:102] When you are with them, and lead the Contact Prayer (Salat) for them, let some of you stand guard; let them hold their weapons, and let them stand behind you as you prostrate. Then, let the other group that has not prayed take their turn praying with you, while the others stand
guard and hold their weapons. Those who disbelieved wish to see you neglect your weapons and your equipment, in order to attack you once and for all. You commit no error, if you are hampered by rain or injury, by putting down your weapons, so long as you remain alert. GOD
has prepared for the disbelievers a shameful retribution.

What exactly was religiously significant in those Hadiths that you recited above that you could not get from the Quran?

Thank God we know that Hadith and Sunnah, with all the nonsense in them, were never uttered by prophet Muhammad.

Another familiar meaning of Sunnah is that of legal daleel (evidence, proof) whether it is in the Qur'aan, the Prophet's sayings, or Ijtihaad by the Companions, such as the collection of Qur'aan in one book and unifying the reading of the Qur'aan on one Harf (reading style). Opposite to this is Bid`ah (inovation) in religion [about] which Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) said clearly "Follow my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the righteous Caliphs after me" and did not say follow my bid`ah which should not be taken as the same as Sunnah. This can be shown by the definition used in fiqh were we say this is the Sunnah divorce and that is the Bid`ah divorce. These differences in looking at Sunnah is dependent on the faculty of scholars, just like any area of science where definitions vary.

In general we can define the Sunnah as whatever Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) said or did to be way of life for us.

The way of life for us, in all matters that are religiously important, are fully detailed in the Quran. That was the source prophet Muhammad used. So, if we want to follow the prophet, we follow that source. It is as simple as that.

About what the prophet said for people to follow, as reported in hadith, please see the following evidence for Hadith not being a reliable source - the three versions of Muhammad's last sermon

The Companions of the Prophet ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) used to take the ruling on different matters in their lives from the Qur’aan, which they use to learn from Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)). In many instances, the aayaat (verses) of the Qur’aan treat a subject in a general manner without a specific condition. Sometimes the aayaat will come as an absolute ruling without any precondition or limitation required by time, place, etc. As an example of what came in a general way in the Qur’aan is the Salaat. The Qur’aan does not mention how many Rak`ahs (units of prayer) we should make, or how to physically move during prayer, or the time for prayer. Similarly, the Qur’aan does not mention the minimum amount of money to have before giving Zakaat (charity) or the conditions by which to pay it. Many of our `Ibaadaat cannot be performed without stopping at the explanations related to the regulations, pillars, and conditions of nullification. It is thus a must to return to Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) to know the rules in a comprehensive and clear manner.

Although this argument is frequently used to challenge God's assertion that the Quran is fully detailed, Hadith and Sunna does not provide the details for HOW to perform the daily contact prayers, nor give the amount to give in Zakat either.

The reason God did not put all the details of how to perform the daily contact prayers in the Quran is that this is common knowledge, and the obligatory part of our Salat were never disputed. The Quran clearly exlains to us that it's purpose is to set us straight in matters in which there is a dispute.

[16:64] We have revealed this scripture to you, to point out for them what they dispute, and to provide guidance and mercy for people who believe.

The parts of the Salat that are disputed are set straight in the Quran. Examples of parts in the Salat that were set straight was the times for the prayers, and the strict prohibition to mention any other names in our worship practices.

Many times, the Companions faced incidents in which the Qur’aan which had no ruling, and there was a need to return to the Prophet ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) to know the ruling of such matters. It was the Prophet who was ordered by Allah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa) teach humanity, and it is the Prophet who is the most knowledgeable of mankind about that which Allah subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa expects from us.

Incidents in which the Quran had no ruling would be incidents which are completly irrelevant to any of us religiously. Period. As with all contemporaries with any of the prophets and messengers sent, they consult with them about their lives and circumstances regarding private and public matters relevant to that time and those specific circumstances. That has nothing to do with us.

Any ruling issues by the prophet would have been based on the Quran anyway. Now we have the Quran, so let's follow it.

Allah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa) has told us about the duty of Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) with respect to the Qur’aan, where Allah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa) said:

"And We have sent down unto thee (also) the Message; that thou mayest explain clearly to men what is sent for them, and that they may give thought." [Qur’aan 16:44]

Allah also made it clear to us that the duty of Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) is to clarify the truth to people when there is a dispute:

"And We sent down the Book to thee for the express purpose, that thou shouldst make clear to them those things in which they differ, and that it should be a guide and a mercy to those who believe." [Qur’aan 16:64]

And as the verse above clearly indicates, the way by which prophet Muhammad would make clear to people what the right course of action was, was by providing reminders with the Quranic verses, and nothing else.

[6:130] O you jinns and humans, did you not receive messengers from among you, who narrated to you My revelations, and warned you about the meeting of this day? They will say, "We bear witness against ourselves." They were totally preoccupied with the worldly life, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.

The prophets and messengers have no knowledge or power beyond that which God gives them:

[7:188] Say, "I have no power to benefit myself, or harm myself. Only what GOD wills happens to me. If I knew the future, I would have increased my wealth, and no harm would have afflicted me. I am no more than a warner, and a bearer of good news for those who believe."

[7:6] We will certainly question those who received the message, and we will question the messengers.

We are obligated to follow any ruling by Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) in any dispute:

"But no, by the Lord, they can have no (real) Faith, until they make thee judge in all disputes between them, and find in their souls no resistance against Thy decisions, but accept them with the fullest conviction." [Qur’aan 4:65]

Any ruling prophet Muhammad would have issued would have been in accordance with the Quran. Since we have the Quran our job now is to read it and follow it. Prophet Muhammad did not authorize any other teachings to be preached besides the Quran. Thus he would never say or encourage people to believe that he had any details to add to our religion which were not already stated in the book God calls fully detailed.

If what he said was to be followed, it would be in the Quran. Had he said anything that was not in the Quran, the believers did not have to follow it. As it turns out, Muhammad set a questionable example in twice of his dealings with people:

[33:37] Recall that you said to the one who was blessed by GOD, and blessed by you, "Keep your wife and reverence GOD," and you hid inside yourself what GOD wished to proclaim. Thus, you feared the people, when you were supposed to fear only GOD. When Zeid was completely through with his wife, we had you marry her, in order to establish the precedent that a man may marry the divorced wife of his adopted son. GOD's commands shall be done.

[80:1-3] He (Muhammad) frowned and turned away. When the blind man came to him. He (Muhammad) frowned and turned away.

That is probably why God conditioned the obedience of His prophet when he issues righteous orders:

[60:12] O you prophet, when the believing women (who abandoned the disbelievers) to seek asylum with you pledge to you that they will not set up any idols besides GOD, nor steal, nor commit adultery, nor kill their children, nor fabricate any falsehood, nor disobey your righteous orders, you shall accept their pledge, and pray to GOD to forgive them. GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.

As any other prophet and messenger, Muhammad was required to believe in and obey the revelations conveyed through him. And as any other prophet and messenger, he could only try to correct as many wrongs in himself as he possibly could, just like anyone else:

[11:88] He said, "O my people, what if I have solid proof from my Lord; what if He has provided me with a great blessing? It is not my wish to commit what I enjoin you from. I only wish to correct as many wrongs as I can. My guidance depends totally on GOD; I have put my trust in Him. To Him I have totally submitted.

Allah also mentioned that Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) was given the Qur’aan and Wisdom to teach people the regulations of their religion:

"Allah did confer a great favour on the believers when He sent among them an apostle from among themselves, rehearsing unto them the Signs of Allah, sanctifying them, and instructing them in Scripture and Wisdom, while, before that, they had been in manifest error." [Qur’aan 3:164]

Muhammad came and completed his duty by God's grace. He was to serve as a tool to convey the Quran. This is the scripture he lived and died delivering and preaching.

Anything Muhammad said would be in accordance with this scripture. If it is not, we know that Muhammad would never have said it. This is the main problem with Hadith and Sunna. It contains tons of blasphemies, attacks and lies against God and His prophet. It contains so many contradictions and direct challenges against God's teachings in the Quran. It also contains so much nonsense that it is not even funny. To give you a small sample:

(1) The Sahih books have many regulations that contradict the Quran, e.g. the punishment of the adulterer and adulteress as stated in the Quran in 24:2, they claim the verse of stoning the adulteress to death was eaten by a goat and so removed from the Quran. What an insult ?!!

(2) In Bukhary's Sahih, section of "Ghussull" (Washing after intercourse), the Hadith tells that the prophet Muhammed was to have intercourse with his wives, 11 of them, within one hour, day or night. And that he was given the sexual power of 30 men.

Moslem Sahih Ahadith (#2697, 2698, 2699) which state:

"(2697) ...she [’A’isha] said: I applied perfume to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and he went round his wives and then entered upon the state of Ihram in the morning." (Vol. 2, p. 587)

And al-Bukhary related similarly:

"268. Narrated Qatada; Anas bin Malik said, "The Prophet used to visit his wives in a round, during the day and night and they were eleven in number." I asked Anas, "Had he the strength for it?" Anas replied, "We used to say that the Prophet was given the strength of thirty (men)." And Sa’id said on the authority of Qatada that Anas had told him about nine wives only (not eleven). (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 1, p. 165; cited from Islam As It Sees Itself..., Nehls, p. 39)

What does this shameful lie have to do with "WORSHIP GOD ALONE" What kind of honor is Bukhary giving the Prophet by this Hadith ? Did the prophet Muhammed has anything else to do other than spending the time taking care of his wives ? Of course he did, but Bukhary and the other Hadithists do not give him the credit. It is interesting to see that Bukhary accepts this hadiths that talks about 11 wives for the prophet when historically he is known to have only 9 wives. Bukhary did not care about the contents of these hadiths.

It is just a dishonor for the Muslims to accept having this Hadith and any other hadith from those who insulted the prophet. We only have one BEST HADITH, the Quran.

The fabricator of this hadith was making up something to compete with another hadith lie about prophet Solomon.

from Sahih Muslim (#4066- 4070) - for which we will not give the full text - tells of Sulaiman (Solomon) deciding to go around 60, 70 or 90 of his wives in one night and declaring they will all give birth to children who will grow up to be horsemen and "fight in the cause of Allah". We are told that the angel Jibreel tells him to say "if Allah wills". However, Sulaiman does not listen and consequently ends up with one child only which one translator states was "a half man".

(3) In Bukhary's Sahih, Vol. 3, and in Moslem Vol. 7 the Hadith of Aysha, the prophet's wife, that the prophet was lying down with Aysha when his other wives sent Fatima first, then one of his wives to ask him for a matter of their business, so Aysha and the other wife get in argument and cursed each other so the prophet sided with Aysha and smiled and approved Aysha's revenge from his other wife.

The story is naive and insignificant but meant to place Aysha above all the other wives and completely showing the Prophet as careless man who was not shy from receiving people, even his daughter while in bed with his wife in a compromised position. He was shown in this fabricated SAHIH Hadith to disobey the Quran and being unfair to all his wives as God commands in the Quran.

and more lies and fabrications;

"’Ubayd Allah Ibn Musa informed us on the authority of Usamah Ibn Zayd, he on the authority of Safwan Ibn Sulaym, he said: The Apostle of Allah, may Allah bless him, said: Gabriel brought a kettle from which I ate and I was given the power of sexual intercourse equal to forty men." (Vol. 1, p. 438; cited from Islam As It Sees Itself..., Nehls, p. 39)

(4) In Moslem's Sahih, when narrating the qualities of Othman Ibn Affan, another story was repeated , Abu Baker entered the house with the prophet lying down with his wife with his thighs exposed and did not cover them when Abu baker and Omar entered but did when Othman did, (because as the Hadith states, The Angels are shy from Othman and so should be Muhammed ). Another fabrication to boost the position of Othman against people like Ali Ibn Abu Talib. Naive hadith fabricators insulted the prophet to give Othman a higher degree over Ali.

(5)In Moslem's Sahih, a Hadith in the section of washing after intercourse that Muhammed answered a man about washing after having sex with his wife. Aysha was sitting there listening, and Muhammed answered, I do it all the time with this (woman-Aysha) and wash right away.

What a shame!! With the prophet talking about his sexual habits in the presence of Aysha with no embarrassment. Teaching of sexual practice and matters can be taught without pointing fingers to the wife and her sacred relationship with her husband, especially if the husband happened to be the Prophet Muhammed. This was not our beloved Prophet. This is the fabrication of the fabricators.

(6) In Bukhary's Sahih, vol. 4 and 7, a Hadith about a magic spill casted on the prophet Muhammed until he did not know what he is doing even to the point that he would think he had intercourse with his wives when he in reality did not. Our Hadithist made the Prophet absent minded even for a minute ?!! What a shame. Should we respect them and accept their SAHIH ??!!! NO

(7) Bukhary's Sahih, vol. 2, narrates the hadith about Muhammed occasionally losing his concentration until he does not know how many Rakaat he prayed. What kind of message did Bukhary want to give to the people with such Hadith.

(8) Moslem's Sahih, vol. 2, hadith about the prophet start to urinate standing up, so one of his companions start to walk away but the prophet called him back to stay close. What a lie. And what is the significance ?!!

Our Prophet being insulted in the books that he ordered not to be written but the Muslims call them SAHIH Hadith. They forgot that there is ONLY one SAHIH Hadith, the BEST HADITH, the Quran.

(9) In the book of Tayymum (Dry Ablution) of Bukhary, vol. 1 and Moslem's Sahih vol. 1, is the story of a necklace lost by Aysha, so the prophet instructed all the Muslims with him to find the lost necklace, while he slept on Aysha's thigh for hours, did not do his prayers or remember God, and did not tell the people what to do for ablution since they did not have water. So God decided to give the Muslims the Tayymum (Dry ablution). Another shameful SAHIH Hadiths.

(10) In another Hadith reported by Bukhary and Hanbel,

Bukhary, Volume 1, Book 4, Number 234:       Narrated Abu Qilaba:

Anas said, "Some people of 'Ukl or 'Uraina tribe came to Medina and its climate did not suit them. So the   Prophet ordered them to go to the herd of (Milch) camels and to drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they went as directed and after they became healthy, they killed the shepherd of the Prophet and drove away all the camels. The news reached the Prophet early in the morning and he sent (men) in their pursuit and they were captured and brought at noon. He then ordered to cut their hands and feet (and it was done), and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron, They were put in 'Al-Harra' and when they asked for water, no water was given to them." Abu Qilaba said, "Those people committed theft and murder, became infidels after embracing Islam and fought against Allah and His Apostle ."  Until February 2001, the hadiths was still on display in Bukhary's book posted at the  USC site;

http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/004.sbt.html#001.004.234

This is the picture that Hadith books depict our prophet, the man that God described him in the Quran as being compassionate and of high moral character.. Now do we know why God described His book, the Quran as the best Hadith, the most truthful Hadith, the non-fabricated Hadith ? Do we know why we should believe God in the Quran ?

Only the enemies of God, the enemies of the prophet Muhammed and the enemies of Islam are the ones who want us to believe these Sahih Books.

Regarding the last aayah, most scholars and those of great knowledge said that the wisdom mentioned in the aayah means another thing besides the Qur’aan. It is what Allah subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa has given Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) from the knowledge of matters and regulations that the rest of humanity can not attain. Imaam Ash-Shaafi`ee rahimahullaahhas said that "Allah subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa has mentioned the scripture which is the Qur’aan, and he mentioned wisdom and I have learned from the people of knowledge that the wisdom here is the Sunnah of Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)). It is from the mercy of Allah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa) that He has sent to us a way to practice what is in the Qur’aan."

What would be the purpose of revealing something that humanity cannot attain!? This goes against several Quranic commands and reassurances. God tells us that He made the Quran easy to learn (54:17). He also made it a command from Him that each and every believer must verify what they hold to be true in His name with their own hearing, eyesight and brains (17:36). We verify by studying the Quran, God's proven word.

As for wisdom, God clearly says that every matter of wisdom is clarified in the Quran.

[44:4] In it (the scripture), every matter of wisdom is clarified.

Allah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa) did not stop by saying scripture only, but the inclusion of the Sunnah with the Qur’aan is an indication of its important and the obligation on us to follow it as we have to follow the Qur’aan. Imaam Ash-Shaafi`ee goes on saying that the letter 'wa' ('and' between Scripture and Wisdom in the aayah) is a letter of conjunctions in Arabic which requires that the two parts it joins must be different otherwise the sentence will be redundant, and Allah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa) is far away from that; na`oodhu billaah. And so when Allah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa) said that he has conferred a great favor on the believers, He does not confer anything that is not correct and truthful. Therefore, this wisdom must be followed as the Qur’aan, and Allah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa) has never ordered us to follow anything but Him and His messenger ((may Peace Be Upon Him)). Which must mean that this wisdom is what came from Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) in the form of rules and sayings regarding legislation.

The term "and", as is conveniently overlooked here, is often used when combining references to one and the same object, referring to different essences and functions of that same object. We see examples of this in the Quran:

[57:25] We sent our messengers supported by clear proofs, and we sent down to them the scripture and the law, that the people may uphold justice. And we sent down the iron, wherein there is strength, and many benefits for the people. All this in order for GOD to distinguish those who would support Him and His messengers, on faith. GOD is Powerful, Almighty.

Here we see God referring to the "scripture AND the law". We know that the law is IN the scripture.

[42:17] GOD is the One who sent down the scripture, to deliver the truth and the law. For all that you know, the Hour (Day of Judgment) may be very close.

Of course God's law in the Quran is true, and that is why God says "the truth and the law". This does not mean that He revealed one part truth and one part law.

To clarify the concept of Sunnah and our obligation to follow it, Allah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa) said:

"Those who follow the apostle, the unlettered Prophet, whom they find mentioned in their own (scriptures),- in the law and the Gospel;- for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil; he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honour him, help him, and follow the light which is sent down with him,- it is they who will prosper." [Qur’aan 7:157]

Because this teaching is mentioned in general in this aayah, then it must include the rules in the Qur’aan and Sunnah.

As we have already read in some verses above, the prophet says that does not even have power to help himself. Thus we know that whatever decree he issues, whatever relief is given, is through God's revelations and grace. It has nothing to do with the man Muhammad except that he was the 'postman' delivering the package/message to people from God, i.e. the Quran providing that light and that healing.

[10:57] O people, enlightenment has come to you herein from your Lord, and healing for anything that troubles your hearts, and guidance, and mercy for the believers.

The Quran is a messenger!

[65:10] GOD has prepared for them severe retribution. Therefore, you shall reverence GOD, O you who possess intelligence and believed. GOD has sent down to you a message -

[65:11] a messenger who recites to you GOD's revelations, clearly, to lead those who believe and work righteousness out of the darkness into the light. Anyone who believes in GOD and leads a righteous life, He will admit him into gardens with flowing streams; they abide therein
forever. GOD will generously reward him.

God's way and thus the prophets way is described in the Quran. Whatever else we read that is worth anything to us religiously can be confirmed in the Quran. The Sunnah falsely attributed to prophet Muhammad contradicts the Quran. Thus it is proven to be false.

Below are another set of examples that really should convince you that Hadith and Sunnah are fabrications that have nothing to do with the honorable prophet Muhammad. To read the article in full, please click here.

Now after about 1400 years this hadith did not happen. The Prophet Muhammed could not say such a lie, but people who believe in falsehood cannot help but believe in it and put it in a book and call it AUTHENTIC (Sahih).

The corruption of Bukhary is obvious in this hadith. This hadith states that there will be no more NEW human beings 100 years after Muhammed. Despite the fact that this hadith was collected by Bukhary more than 200 hundred years after the death of the Prophet, and is obviously a LIE and a FABRICATION, and the prophet Muhammed could not have said it, Bukhary still included this lie in his SAHIH (Authentic hadiths). Bukhary did not care about what the hadiths say or teach but cared to find good Isnad (Chain of narrators). He failed in his Isnad and in his Sahih, and in his Islam. Bukhary corrupted his own book and Islam by many of these FALSE hadiths that, many deceived Muslims cherish and in doing so commit idol-worship. The Prophet Muhammed will complain to God on the Day of Judgment from him and from all the puppets who followed his footsteps.  See 25:30

(8) MAN IN THE IMAGE OF GOD :

Sahih Moslem; (Contradicting the Quran)

Abu Hurayra said that the messenger of God said; " If one of you fight his brother, do not strike him in the face. And do not say may God make you ugly, because God made Adam in His image."

Another Lie and Fabrication narrated by Abu Hurayra, and accepted by Moslem. This is the same lie you find in the Bible. Quran is clear on How God looks like. Check it your self, see 6:103, 42:11, and the story of Moses in 7:143

(9) ADAM IS 60 CUBITS LENGTH HIGH AND 7 CUBITS LENGTH WIDE;

Musnad Ahmad;

Abu Hurayra said, the prophet said; " God created Adam, 60 cubits high and seven cubits wide."

" Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, created Adam in His own image with His Length of sixty cubits..." (Sahih Muslim, Vol. 4, p. 1481, #6809; emphasis added)

It is interesting to know that Imam Malik denied the authenticity of this hadith.

(10) MUHAMMED HAS NO MERCY;

Sahih Bukhary; and Hanbel.

Bukhary, Volume 1, Book 4, Number 234:

"A group of people from the Oreyneh and Oqayelh tribes came to the prophet to embrace Islam, the prophet advised them to drink the urine of the camels. Later on when they killed the prophet's shepherd, the prophet seized them, gouged out their eyes, cut their hands and legs, and left  them thirsty in the desert to die."

This is the picture that Hadith books depict Muhammed.  Compare this picture with the way God describes him in the Quran.

(11) WOMEN, DOGS AND MONKEYS;

Hadiths insult women.

Sahih Bukhary 8/102 and Hanbel 4/86

"If a monkey, a black dog or a woman passes infront of a praying person, his prayer is nullified."

This hadith that was narrated by Abu Hurayra was strongly denied by Aysha, the Prophet's wife and accused Abu Hurayra of not telling the truth. Despite that this hadiths is still found in the middle of the so called authentic (Sahih) hadiths.

(12)BAD OMEN IN THE WOMAN:

Sahih Bukhary 76/53

"Bad omen is in the woman, the horse and the home."

Another reflection of the prejudice against women that was a character of those who fabricated hadiths. Islam (Submission in English) gives full respect to the woman and never used such description that makes the woman like the dog, the monkey or any bad omen.

(13) NO DISTINCTION AMONG THE MESSENGERS, CONTRADICTION

Hadiths books are full of stories that make the Prophet Muhammed better than all the other Prophets and human beings. These hadiths are contradicting other hadiths, that I will mention and contradicting the teachings of the Quran. This is the violation of the Quran where God states that we, as believers, should not make any distinction among His messengers, see 2:285. Those who have been claiming to follow the hadiths books have conveniently ignored the repeated hadiths that call on the believers not to make distinction among the messengers. The following Hadiths show the contradiction in the hadiths books themselves regarding this matter.

Sahih Moslem;

"Ibn Abbas said, the prophet said; "No one should say that I am better than Younus (Jonah) Ibn Matta."

Here the Prophet Muhammed is asking the people NOT to make him better than Younus.

Sahih Moslem;

"Abu Hurayra said, a Muslim man and a Jew got in an argument,

the Muslim said I swear by the One who Chose Muhammed over the whole world. The Jew said , I swear by the One who chose Moses over the whole world. The Muslim man raised his hand and slapped the Jew on his face. The Jew went to the Prophet Muhammed and complained . The messenger of God said, " Do not make me better than Moses." The people will fall unconscious (in the Last Day), and I will be the first to wake up, and I will find Moses already there by the "Aarsh" throne of God. I would not know whether he fell unconscious also and wake up before me, or God excluded him from that."

Sahih Moslem;

Anas Ibn Malik said; a man came to the messenger of God and said, O you, the best of all people, (Khayer Al-Baryeh) The messenger of God said; "this would be Ibrahim (Abraham) peace be upon him."

Sahih Moslem

Abu Saeed Al-Khudry said, the messenger of God said, "Do NOT make distinction among the prophets.

Do they take heed ?

(14) MUHAMMED AND THE MAGIC SPELL;

Sahih Moslem and Sahih Bukhary had the long hadith that tells of the prophet Muhammed suffering of a magic spell, casted on him by a Jewish man from Bany Zuriq, The prophet (according to this lie), was so affected by the spell that he was not aware of what he says or does. He would think he had intercourse with his wives when he did not. This is one of the biggest insult to the Prophet Muhammed. This lie is repeated in both books of Bukhary and Moslem. This lie is called SAHIH

HADITH. The messenger of God has to know every second what he is doing and what he is saying. This is just another example of the fabrications and lies that they call SAHIH.

(15) INSULT OF GOD;

Sahih Bukhary 97/24, 10/129 and comment on verse 68:42

"On the day of Judgment, God will open His leg and show His thigh to the Prophet."

"God will show His leg to the believers and they will fall prostrate."

Remember what God said about Himself in the Quran. in 42:11, and 6:103. Also remember what God told Moses when Moses asked God if he can look at Him (God) .

(16) INSULTING  MUHAMMED;

Sahih Bukhary;

Section of Ghusul (washing after intercourse)

Anas Ibn Malik said, The Prophet Muhammed used to go by all his wives and have intercourse with them within one hour, day or night. and they were eleven wives.We asked ; "How can he do it?" He said, we were talking about the prophet given the sexual power of thirty men.

Another Sahih Lie from the Sahih book of Bukhary. Notice that Bukhary accepted that hadith even when the hadtith talks about eleven wives while historically the prophet is known to have only nine wives.

They tried to make Muhammed a superman by giving him the sexual power of thirty men. They invented a lie and put it in a SAHIH book.

Does Muhammed need their lies to be honored ? NO.
Is this what the Quran teaches about our beloved Prophet ? NO.
Is this What the TRUE Muslim care about Muhammed ? NO.
Is it a surprise that Muhammed will complain to God on the Day of Judgment because the Muslims deserted the Quran, for other lies and fabrications, see 25:30 ? NO

(17) INSULTING WOMEN AGAIN, & NON-SENSE;

Sahih Bukhary and Moslem;

Abu Hurayra said, the messenger of God said; "If it was not for the Jews (Children of Israel),the food would have never deteriorated and the meat would have never turned bad (rot, decay or spoil). & If it was not for EVE, no WOMAN would have ever cheated on her husband."

Again a blasphemy against God and His prophet. Insulting women and dogs is a characteristic feature of Abu Hurayra's attitude. The Prophet Muhammed could not have said this NON-SENSE. They still however put it in their Sahih (Authentic) Hadiths Books. This is a direct violation of Quran and known facts. Abu Hurayra did not know then ,that there is living germs that make the food and meat turn bad even before the creation of the Jews. Quran never blamed EVE for the sin that Adam and Eve committed. Blaming all the women in the world for supposedly a sin that Eve committed is against the basic Quranic principles and against the justice of God, the Most Merciful. See 6:164

Should we believe God or believe Abu Hurayra?

(18) WOMEN AND LEADERSHIP;

Sahih Bukhary;

Abu Bakara said the messenger of God said;

"Any community whose leader is a woman will never succeed"

Another lie in the name of the prophet that has no support from the Quran. This hadith actually proves the corruption of Imam Al-Bukhary himself who accepted this hadith from Abu Bakara, a man known to have lied and punished in public by Omar Ibn Al-Khattab. According to the rules of God in the Quran, Abu Bakara 's testimony (hadiths) should have never been accepted. See 24:4

From this lie the Muslim scholars put the women down and denied her the right to be in any leading position . This hadith has no support from history or from the Quran. Check the Quran and the story of Queen of Sheba, who became a Muslim (Submittter) ad led a great nation as a woman.

(19) KILLING WOMEN AND CHILDREN;

Sahih Moslem;

3 Hadiths about attacking the disbelievers.Ibn Abbas said , Al-Saab Ibn Guthama said, we asked the messenger of God about the women and children killed during the attack on the disbelievers, and he said they are from among them (like them) (like their parents).

BLASPHEMY against God, Islam and the prophet. This lie included in the Sahih books are another example of the blasphemy these fabrication carry against the prophet.

It contradicts the well known Muslim history when the prophet specifically told his soldiers not to kill the children and women. No WONDER the messenger of God will complain to God from these Muslims who accepted these SAHIH LIES, see 25:30.

(20) KILL THE DOGS;

Bukhary's Sahih;

"Ibn Omar said the messenger of God ordered us to kill the DOGS."

Ibn Hanbal's collection; The messenger of God said;

" You shall kill all black DOGS, because they are devils."

Another NON-SENSE and insult to the Islam, the prophet and God. These lies and fabrications are listed in the SAHIH books of Hadiths. Do you wonder why God called His book, the BEST HADITH? It does not have any of this non-sense.

GOD wants us to uphold only His Hadiths, the Quran.
"Have they not looked at the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all the things God has created? Does it ever occur to them that the end of their life may be near? Which HADITH, besides this (Quran) do they believe in?" 7:185

(21)SATAN URINATES IN YOUR EARS;

Sahih Moslem and Sahih Bukhary;

Abu Hurayra said ," It was mentioned at the messenger of God that a man slept the whole night (did not do his prayer). He said, this man had Satan urinated in his ears."

Another SAHIH NON-SENSE.

The messenger of God could not have said this non-sense hadith. Check the BEST HADITH (Quran) for the BEST KNOWLEDGE.

(22)SATAN LAUGHS WHEN YOU YAWN;

Sahih Bukhary and Sahih Moslem;

Abu Hurayra said, the prophet said; " Yawning is from Satan. If you are about to yawn, you should try to stop it as much as possible. If you yawn, Satan will laugh."

(23) SATAN ENTERS THROUGH YOUR MOUTH;

Abu Hurayra said; the prophet said; "If any of you yawn,, then try your best to stop yawning because Satan will enter (your mouth)."

Another NON-SENSE by Abu Hurayra and accepted as Sahih by Bukhary and Moslem. Our beloved Prophet would not say such non-sense. He told his true followers not to write but the QURAN.

(24) SATAN SLEEPS IN THE BACK OF YOUR THROAT;

Sahih Bukhary and Sahih Moslem;

Abu Hurayra said the prophet said;

"When someone wakes up from sleep, he/she should clean his/her nasopharynx (back of the throat), (by taking the water in the mouth, gurgle with it and bringing it through the nose) three times, because Satan spends the night in the nasopharynx (back of the throat).

Another non-sense by Abu Hurayra accepted by the Sahih books scholars that showed many lies attributed to the Prophet.

(25) SATAN FARTS LOUDLY;

Sahih Moslem and Bukhary;

Abu Hurayra said, the prophet said;

" When the call for prayer is made, SATAN turns around to leave farting very loud so that he would not hear the  Azan (call for prayer), When Azan is finished Satan returns back......"

Another Sahih NON-SENSE.

What this has to do with the religion of WORSHIP GOD ALONE ??

Is this what this PERFECT religion is all about.

(26) SATAN AND THE DONKEY;

Sahih Moslem, and Sahih Bukhary:

Abu Hurayra said the prophet said;

"If you hear the crows of the roosters, ask God for some of His provisions, because the roosters saw an angel. And If you hear the hee-haw of the donkey, seek refuge in God from Satan, because the donkey saw the Shytan (Satan).

Another Sahih NON-SENSE. Another insult to the Prophet Muhammed by those who claim to respect him while attributing non-sense to him in the so called Sahih books of Hadith.

There is only ONE hadith acceptable to God and the Prophet Muhammed, the hadith God called the BEST HADITH.

"God has revealed herein the BEST HADITH; a book that is consistent and points out both ways (to heaven and hell). The skins of those who reverence their Lord cringe therefrom, then their skins and their hearts soften up for God's message. Such is God's guidance; he bestows it upon whomever He wills. As for those sent astray by God, nothing can guide them." 39:23

(27) MUHAMMED LOSES HIS TEMPER, CURSES AND INSULTS;

Sahih Moslem;

" Aysha said, two men came to the messenger of God and talked to him about something I did not know what it was about. They made him angry, so he cursed them and insulted them. After they left, I said, O Messenger of God, what kind of good did these two men. gain ? He said, Why you asking ? I said; "You cursed them and insulted them". He said. Do not you know what kind of promise I got from God ? I asked God, that if I ever curse or insult a Muslim, that He would give him a charity and reward."

Again, we can see lies attributed to both Aysha and the Prophet. The Prophet Muhammed was well known for his compassion towards the people and his mild behavior. He was not known to get angry easy, curse and insult people. He received the great testimony from God for being blessed with a great moral character, see 68:4. This SAHIH LIE like many others contradicts the Quran , other hadiths and common sense. Those who believe in these SAHIH lies will be held responsible for their idol-worship on the day when Muhammed will complain to God from the Muslims for deserting the Quran. See 25:30

(28) WOMEN IN HELL;

Omran Ibn Hussein, said the prophet said; "I looked at Heaven and found that the majority of its dwellers are the poor, and looked at Hell and found the majority of its dwellers are the WOMEN.

Here again is another Sahih Lie as this hadith contradicts the Quran that teaches without any doubt that the dwellers of Heaven are the most righteous, not the poorest and not only that but God teaches us that the rich righteous is better than the poor righteous, see 16:75.

The Quran DOES NOT teach in any way that WOMEN are any more of sinners than MEN, or that they are the dwellers of Hell more than men. This prejudice against the women in Islam can be found only in the fabricated book of men, called Sahih Hadiths. None of this NON-SENSE can be found in the greatest book of all the QURAN.

(29) MOSES , NAKED;

Sahih Bukhary and Sahih Moslem;

"Abu Hurayra said, the messenger of God said; "The Children of Israel used to take a bath looking at each other while they are completely naked, while Moses used to take his bath by himself alone. They said, why is not Moses taking his bath with us , May be he has large testicles. One day, Moses went to take a bath, he put his clothes on a rock. The rock took his clothes and ran away. Moses ran naked after the rock calling on it to give him his clothes. The Children of Israel looked at the naked Moses and said, By God , he looks all right. Moses took his clothes from the rock and kept beating the rock. "

SAHIH NON-SENSE. What this has to do with our perfect religion, Islam and the prophet Muhammed. It is the kind of shame that you find in the books fabricated by men and accepted by some Muslims as our Islam.

A very strong indicator of the obligation upon us to follow the Sunnah can be found in this aayah:

"...And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad ((may Peace Be Upon Him))) gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it) , and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is severe in punishment." [Qur’aan 59:7]

This verse deals with dividing the spoils of war:

[59:7] Whatever GOD restored to His messenger from the (defeated) communities shall go to GOD and His messenger (in the form of a charity). You shall give it to the relatives, the orphans, the poor, and the traveling alien. Thus, it will not remain monopolized by the strong among you. You may keep the spoils given to you by the messenger, but do not take what he enjoins you from taking. You shall reverence GOD. GOD is strict in enforcing retribution.

Allah has also made the obedience of Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) in conjunction with the obedience to Him:

"And obey Allah and the Messenger, that ye may obtain mercy." [Qur’aan 3:132]

We are asked by Allah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa) to answer any order by Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)):

"O ye who believe! give your response to Allah and His Messenger, when He calleth you to that which will give you life." [Qur’aan 8:24]

Allah made the obedience of Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) an obedience to Him, and following Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) an indication of the love of Allah subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa:

"He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah." [Qur’aan 4:80]

"Say: If ye do love Allah, Follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you sins." [Qur’aan 3:31]

And Allah subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa warrned us from not following the instructions of Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)):

"Then let those beware who withstand the Messenger’s order, lest some trial befall them, or a grievous penalty be inflicted on them." [Qur’aan 24:63]

Not only that, but Allah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa) told us that disobeying Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) is Kufr (disbelief):

"Say: Obey Allah and His Messenger.: But if they turn back, Allah loveth not those who reject Faith." [Qur’aan 3:32]

It was never allowed by Allah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa) that a believer disobey Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) order:

"It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path." [Qur’aan 33:36]

To show that not following the ruling of Rasoolullaah ((may Peace Be Upon Him)) when a dispute occurs is a sign of hypocrisy, Allah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa) says:

"They say, We believe in Allah and in the apostle, and we obey; but even after that, some of them turn away; they are not (really) Believers. When they are summoned to Allah and His apostle, in order that He may judge between them, behold some of them decline (to come)....The answer of the Believers, when summoned to Allah and His Messenger, in order that He may judge between them, is no other than this: they say, "We hear and we obey"; it is such as these that will attain felicity." [Qur’aan 24:47-51]

We should absolutely obey God and His messengers and prophets. Obeying Muhammad is obeying what came out of his mouth - the perfect and fully detailed Quran.

If you are indeed obeying Muhammad, you are not mentioning his name or any other name in any of your worship practices, including Salat and Shahaadah, as this would go against the words through his mouth when conveying the following verses:

[4:36] You shall worship GOD alone - do not associate anything with Him. You shall regard the parents, the relatives, the orphans, the poor, the related neighbor, the unrelated neighbor, the close associate, the traveling alien, and your servants. GOD does not like the arrogant show-offs.

[72:18] The places of worship belong to GOD; do not call on anyone else beside GOD.

[20:14] "I am GOD; there is no other god beside Me. You shall worship Me alone, and observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) to remember Me.

[6:162] Say, "My Contact Prayers (Salat), my worship practices, my life and my death, are all devoted absolutely to GOD alone, the Lord of the universe.

[39:45] When GOD ALONE is mentioned, the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter shrink with aversion. But when others are mentioned beside Him, they become satisfied.

The correct Shahaadah from the Quran:

[3:18] GOD bears witness that there is no god except He, and so do the angels and those who possess knowledge. Truthfully and equitably, He is the absolute god; there is no god but He, the Almighty, Most Wise.
