Challenge: What made me give up the code ...
...it was clear like day for me that their(74/31) number is "but a fitna for those who disbelieve-that will 1.cause increasing in faith 2. 3. etc etc. AND NOT: 1.fitna for disbelievers 2.for believers to increase faith 3. for those who are given book to attain certainity.etc
Regardless of which language or translation you read, there is no doubt that verse 74:31 states that the number 19 will disturb the disbelievers. They will be severely disturbed by the the clear Quranic teachings emerging as a result of it, exposing to what extent the 'Muslim' community have abandoned the Quran.
Verse No Pickthall Shakir Sher Ali Yusuf Ali 74:31 We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire, and their number have We made to be a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve; that those to whom the Scripture hath been given may have certainty, and that believers may increase in faith; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts there is disease, and disbelievers, may say: What meaneth Allah by this similitude ? Thus Allah sendeth astray whom He will, and whom He will He guideth. None knoweth the hosts of thy Lord save Him. This is naught else than a Reminder unto mortals. And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. And none but angels have we made wardens of the Fire. And WE have not fixed their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those, who have been given the Book, may attain certainty and those who believe may increase in faith, and those, who have been given the Book as well as the believers, may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is disease and the disbelievers may say, `What does ALLAH mean by such an illustration ?' Thus does ALLAH leave to go astray whom HE pleases and guide whom HE pleases. And none knows the host of thy Lord but HE. And this is nothing but a reminder for man. And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth God intend by this ?" Thus doth God leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. [Khalifa: 74:31] We appointed angels to be guardians of Hell, and we assigned their number (19) (1) to disturb the disbelievers, (2) to convince the Christians and Jews (that this is a divine scripture), (3) to strengthen the faith of the faithful, (4) to remove all traces of doubt from the hearts of Christians, Jews, as well as the believers, and (5) to expose those who harbor doubt in their hearts, and the disbelievers; they will say, "What did GOD mean by this allegory?" GOD thus sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills. None knows the soldiers of your Lord except He. This is a reminder for the people.
Seems you are of the opinion that there is a code based on 19 in the Quran, it is just not miraculous, and it is only there to expose those who will attribute importance to it! Right? In essence you are saying God deliberately partially coded his scripture, referred to it as "one of the great miracles" (74:35) only to see who would be strong enough to reject it, reject the teachings that Quran alone is enough, and insist on upholing other teachings besides the Quran. Because THAT is what all of this is really about.
Consistently throughout the Quran, we learn that God signs are accepted by the believers, not rejected. Everything that has ANYTHING to do with God's deliberate design is ALL meant to achieve one thing, and one thing only, and that is to convince the stubborn human being that God alone is enough for us.
Conclusions among those who fully support the miracle are; 1) Quran is from God Almighty, 2) it is a perfect and fully detailed scripture, 3) unless we find support for things we attribute to God and our relgion in the Quran, it does not belong in the correct faith, 4) the bottom line is and has always been that God alone is worthy of worship. This is the first commandment in all God's scriptures, and has been the message delivered by all His messengers, 5) it doesn't matter what language you master, God's message is attainable to you regardless, 6) you are personally responsible to verify all information you accept as God given.
Conclusions among those who reject the miracle, partially or completely are; 1) God alone is not enough, we need to associate others with him by mentioning their names alongside God's name, 2) God alone is not enough as a saviour and judge to reach salvation, we need the mediation of others on our behalf, 3) Quran alone is not enough, it does not contain all the details we need to practice our religion perfectly, 4) we need 'experts' to help us understand our religion, we are not able to understand the scripture for ourselves without guidance from religious 'experts' and 'authority', recognized as such by many people, 5) we have to understand Arabic to really understand God's message, 6) it is perfectly alright to lean on the understanding of 'knowledgeable' people.
People in general are very reluctant to taking personal responsibility for their lives, faith and destiny. The idea that 'someone else' have responsibility for our salvation and for telling us what is 'right' is much more appealing to most people. As this, always, means immediate acceptance by a majority 'faith-system' instead of finding yourself regarded as a 'threat' to established beliefs, makes this choice even more appealing to the majority of human beings. This is what the Quran teaches us;
[12:103-108] Most people, no matter what you do, will not believe. You are not asking them for any money; you simply deliver this reminder for all the people. So many proofs in the heavens and the earth are given to them, but they pass by them, heedlessly! The majority of those who believe in GOD do not do so without committing idol worship. Have they guaranteed that an overwhelming retribution from GOD will not strike them, or the Hour will not come to them suddenly, when they least expect it? Say, "This is my path: I invite to GOD, on the basis of a clear proof, and so do those who follow me. GOD be glorified. I am not an idol worshiper."
[2:165-171] Yet, some people set up idols to rival GOD, and love them as if they are GOD. Those who believe love GOD the most. If only the transgressors could see themselves when they see the retribution! They will realize then that all power belongs to GOD alone, and that GOD's retribution is awesome. Those who were followed will disown those who followed them. They will see the retribution, and all ties among them will be severed. Those who followed will say, "If we can get another chance, we will disown them, as they have disowned us now." GOD thus shows them the consequences of their works as nothing but remorse; they will never
exit Hell. O people, eat from the earth's products all that is lawful and good, and do not follow the steps of Satan; he is your most ardent enemy. He only commands you to commit evil and vice, and to say about GOD what you do not know. When they are told, "Follow what GOD has revealed herein," they say, "We follow only what we found our parents doing." What if their parents did not understand, and were not guided? The example of such disbelievers is that of parrots who repeat what they hear of sounds and calls, without understanding. Deaf, dumb, and blind; they cannot understand.[29:25] He said, "You worship beside GOD powerless idols due to peer pressure, just to preserve some friendship among you in this worldly life. But then, on the Day of Resurrection, you will disown one another, and curse one another. Your destiny is Hell, wherein you cannot help one another."
[7:70-71] They said, "Did you come to make us worship GOD alone, and abandon what our parents used to worship? We challenge you to bring the doom you threaten us with, if you are truthful." He said, "You have incurred condemnation and wrath from your Lord. Do you argue with me in defense of innovations you have fabricated - you and your parents - which were never authorized by GOD? Therefore, wait and I will wait along with you."
[3:64] Say, "O followers of the scripture, let us come to a logical agreement between us and you: that we shall not worship except GOD; that we never set up any idols besides Him, nor set up any human beings as lords beside GOD." If they turn away, say, "Bear witness that we are
submitters."... i have found on internet some stuff on bible code. I was surprised how much was written on the Bible code(s) and many people reported some kinds of codes in Bible-there is a whole spectar of bible codes !!!. Moreover the people reported codes in other religious book. I saw the light. I realised that i was very wrong when i believed in code 19.
As we learn from the Quran, the previous scriptures were also coded, just as the Quran.
[46:10] Say, "What if it is from GOD and you disbelieved in it? A witness from the Children of Israel has borne witness to a similar phenomenon, and he has believed, while you have turned arrogant. Surely, GOD does not guide the wicked people."
If anything seeing, and from the sound of it believing that there is, a code in the Bible should increase your faith in a code in the Quran, the scripture God says supersedes the previous scriptures.
... one of the main thing s that has triggered my attention to opinion that code 19 is but a make-believe is....Quranic " misterious" "Initials". .. only a few counts/or summs of initials were 19 divisible. This, as well as, changing criteria and manipulations with counts of four bismilah´s word (the counts were doctored-actually NOT A SINGLE bismillahs` word come out as multiple of 19 read the article Numbers do lie! ) definitely convinced me that the code was mere manipulation and generalizaton without analysing whole population of statistics. Two most striking examples of code 19 were actually a bluff .
